Buster’s Show of Love

Character Development

The goal of this project was to improve skills in character design and 2D animation and understand the animation industry process and expectations while under the guidance of Art Director and Freelance Illustrator,
Madison Tuff.

Buster

Buster is the charming title character of the show. Inspired by John Bender from The Breakfast Club and rough little terriers, Buster is a scrappy street dog who gets a boost of confidence with a fresh new haircut. His character needed to give off that he is a bad boy with a gentle heart.

Beatrice

The main love interest. Taking inspiration from influencers and models we chose a long, dainty breed to counter Buster’s short and (initially) rough appearance. She needed to exude a sassy, instagram influencer personality.

Axel

Buster’s studly competition. Inspired by egotistical, narcissistic Chads. He needed to have a “cocky alpha male” feel and his features needed to be sharp so he was “untouchable”.
